However, there is good news here: having chosen the right day, almost any Paris museum can be visited for free. Every first Sunday of the month is such a magical day here. Do not forget about the famous Museum Night, when most European museums open their doors to all visitors — in France, this event is usually held in May.
And Parisian museums are free in the following cases:
- every first Sunday of the month from October to April;
- some museums (for example, the Louvre) are free on Bastille Day (July 14), Museum Night (third Saturday in May) and White Night (first Saturday in October);
- most museums are free for children up to 12 years old, and the Louvre – up to 18 years old;
- national museums are free for students up to 26 years old (if you have an ISIC certificate or a student ID of a European university);
- city museums are free For everyone, just find out which museums are urban. This is, for example, the Museum of Paris.
