Conditions of temporary protection for Ukrainians in Poland, as of February 2024

Poland has extended temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees until June 30, 2024. More information about this in the article.

If we talk about financial support, then as of 2024, adult able—bodied Ukrainians do not receive cash payments in Poland – only one-time assistance of 300 zlotys (about 2,800 hryvnia) when crossing the border and obtaining temporary protection.

Currently, refugees continue to enjoy the same benefits as in 2023:

  • Free accommodation for 120 days under the “40+” program.
  • Free housing for vulnerable categories, including large families, people with disabilities, pensioners, pregnant women and mothers with infants.
  • The possibility of official employment (subject to receipt of PESEL UKR within 30 days after arrival in Poland).
  • Free medical care and education.
