A large number of new arrivals increases the pressure on municipalities for the ability to serve the population. In order to continue to accept migrants from Ukraine in a controlled manner and provide them with appropriate services in municipalities, we propose new measures to limit benefits and services,” said Tonje Brenna, Minister of Labor and Social Policy.
Some of the proposed changes include the denial of financial assistance for Ukrainian refugees who choose to live in private homes above shelters.
It is also planned to limit the living conditions of newcomers, including the inability to stay in shelters for refugees with pets at the expense of the state. Other innovations include the requirement to stay in the country for a certain period in order to receive various benefits, while canceling some unconditional benefits.
These proposals, in particular regarding the length of stay, dental services and payments, are aimed at discussion and hearing.

- Ukrainians who are going to other locations, except for the national registration center in the municipality of Rode, will no longer be provided with housing or transport.
- The proposal to cancel the payment of state benefits for children under 18 years of age has been submitted to a hearing with a deadline of February 6.
Citizens are actively informed that in order to receive a number of benefits through the social protection fund, there are mandatory requirements regarding the length of residence in Norway.
